Veolia Recognizes Hagemeyer North America
CHARLESTON, SC; March 2009 — Hagemeyer North America was awarded an environmental stewardship award from Veolia in March for outstanding commitment to Green and sustainability. Veolia awarded five awards and Hagemeyer NA was one of only two major distributors to be recognized. Hagemeyer's Manager of Sustainable Development Melanie Hardy accepted the award from Veolia National Account Manager Mark Braniff on March 24.
"This is a great honor," says Hardy, "and one that Hagemeyer is very proud of. We've made great strides in our sustainability efforts, both within Hagemeyer and to better support our cusotmers' efforts too. This award recognizes our commitment to be an environmentally responsible company and solutions provider."
Veolia Environmental Services is the world's largest waste services company with 92,500 employees in 42 countries generating revenues of $13.6 billion in 2007. Their services to industrial, commercial, municipal, and residential customers include: solid waste management, technical solutions (hazardous wast management), industrial maintenance and cleaning, and waste-to-energy.
